I’d also like to encourage you to come back and visit frequently in the upcoming weeks for great gift ideas, new products and of course plenty of project ideas and other great scrapbooking related information. Cheap Scrapbooking Supplies from the Kitchen 2

I’ve mentioned before, I just love looking for more great inexpensive items from strange places in my home. I like using things that might not otherwise have been used for exactly that use. Have you ever used anything from around your house in your albums and on your layouts? Part one of the article is posted here. There are plenty more where the original article left off. Plastic Baggies – They are certainly great for sorting and storing items, but they can also be used to hold memorabilia on your page, or to cover a tag or to create a … Continue reading

Top Five Favorite Scrapbooking Album Companies

Albums are a definite must have supply for scrapbooking. Without them, there certainly would be no scrapbook, and with them, you have a beautiful legacy to pass along. Do you struggle to find an album that works for you? I recently took a poll on my website to find out what the top scrapbooking album companies were. The poll listed ten popular scrapbooking supply companies that carry albums and over 390 votes came in. I did not include an “other” category, simply because that wouldn’t help in discovering the top five. The poll was set up so that you could … Continue reading

How Many Pages Will My Scrapbook Album Hold?

How many pages does a scrapbook album actually hold? This question is asked so frequently. In fact, I see it several times a week on a variety of message boards I frequent, so I thought I would address it and give you the best answer available. The first part of the answer is simple. It has no answer. Except it does so I will explain. It really depends on the name brand of the album, the size of the album and how much three dimensional scrapbooking you do on your individual layouts. Here is more on each situation. Album Brand … Continue reading

Changing An Album Kit (3)

Album kits are easy to change and that has been my focus the past few days. This article will wrap up the rest of the album and hopefully encourage you to get started on your own. Since I had planned out the album, all sixteen pages, before I got to work on it, the album was easy and fast to complete. Planning is key. It also allows you to figure out what you might need in advance and not order too many photographs. The next section of the album began a closer look at mom and dad with the kids. … Continue reading

Changing An Album Kit (2)

Changing an album kit is easier than you might think. I have already given you a quick look at how easy it can be, but now I would like to show you what I did to make it work for us. Sometimes seeing it can spark the creativity for your own changed album. You don’t have to follow the idea sheets that come with the albums, many people don’t actually realize that. You can design your own look and feel for the album in any way you want, it’s your album. Don’t forget, you can use your own embellishments if … Continue reading

Changing An Album Kit (1)

What is an album kit? An album kit is a kit that you purchase that come with everything you need to complete one entire album. It contains the album, papers, embellishments and usually contains an idea sheet. The only things you need to supply are your photographs and an adhesive. You might also need a cutter or straight edge scissors to crop your photographs. However, working with an album kit can be a challenge when you first look at it. Often the embellishments and the idea sheets are designed for a certain number of photographs per page, and perhaps you … Continue reading

Using An Album Kit

If you had told me before this Christmas, that I’d be using an album kit to complete something, I would have simply laughed. However, now I have tried it and I am totally hooked. At least for smaller albums and gift albums. I cannot possibly give up the creativity that goes into my everyday layouts. We have a grandma that lives in Montana, which is quite a distance from Missouri when you look at any map. She never gets to see the children, and as busy as we all are, we forget to send pictures out to her all the … Continue reading

Using Valentine Products in New Ways

With so many fun Valentine scrapbooking products available right now, it’s hard to resist picking up a few things to play with. But if you are like me, you don’t really do a lot of Valentine’s Day layouts. I might do 1 layout to celebrate what we did that day and make a few cards to give to my kids and husband, but other than that, I thought I didn’t have much use for these love themed products. Once I started brainstorming ways to use these products on layouts other than a Valentine’s Day layout, I came up with a … Continue reading

Theme Albums – Cousins Book – Part 2: Michael’s Pages

My three sister-in-laws came to my house last Wednesday to have a girl’s scrapbook day, while our husbands took our kids to a dairy farm. (I sent my camera with my hubby and he did a great job of capturing the fun on film!) I had gathered all the necessary supplies (see blog post part 1) and had arranged all our products on our full-extended kitchen table. After a little discussion, we determined we had 4 boy pages and 6 girl pages to create. We also determined that it would be easiest to mass produce each page since we were … Continue reading
