No Excuses

Lately I have been lamenting my lack of creativity. The lazy days of summer have bled into my layouts. Not only are my page designs uninspired, but they also seem static and boring. In talking to my friend about a less than stellar layout I made featuring photos I took on the Fourth of July, I blamed my stale layouts on my lack of money. I went on and on about how my pages could look so much better if I only had more cash to purchase fancy embellishments and paper. Guess what? She wasn’t having any of it. Rather, … Continue reading

Cardstock Costs

Scrapbooking doesn’t always come cheap. Sure, there are many ways you can reduce the amount you spend on embellishments and tools, but like any hobby, materials add up over time. Fortunately, the more diligent you are about keeping track of your scrapbook spending habits, the more you can save in the long run. For example, I have to adhere to a strict scrapbook budget. To ensure I don’t go over budget I keep all the receipts from my scrapbook buys in a Sterilite container and at the end of the month I add up how much I spent. If I … Continue reading

Nail Files Have Five More Great Uses

Recently I found some awesome deals on nail files, and went a little crazy buying them. For whatever reason I felt I needed them in my stockpile! I purchased a few very large packages of those cute little nail files, and now I have literally hundreds of those things. Of course it’s great, because I keep losing them and then I always have more, which is perfect; I tend to lose things easily. However, what I did figure out is that a nail file has a whole plethora of additional uses, besides just filing your fingernails. A nail file is … Continue reading

100 Days

Today is the 100th day of school for my child.  To mark the occasion she and her classmates were asked to bring in 100 of their favorite items. Yes, the assignment that parents from coast-to-coast dread each year. It’s even more dreadful when your kid reminds you that she needs said items two hours before they’re due. So, you run around like a nutcase looking for 100 what to cram into a Ziploc bag? Cheerios, LEGOs, coffee beans… blood, sweat, tears? When all is said and done, hopefully you remember to snap a photo of your kid holding up his … Continue reading
