Scrapbooking Small Milestones

Our scrapbook albums tend to be full of these big events and activities. We commemorate birthdays, graduations, weddings, the birth of a new baby and many other huge events. But what about all the small events?

There are dozens of other events that we overlook or forget about, that would be great to commemorate on a scrapbook page. This all started when I realized that I have been with this website for almost two years. My anniversary is in March and I wanted to remember that. A totally insignificant event to almost anyone else.

There are dozens of other small events and milestones that can be remembered. For each person, their milestones are unique but here are a few to get you thinking.

  • A 100% on something.
  • Accomplishing a "to do" list task that took a long time to complete.
  • Getting your own webpage/blog.
  • Purchasing a new item you've wanted.
  • Getting something you've wanted for a long time as a gift.
  • Vet visits, doctors visits, dentist visits.
  • Beating a video game that took a long time to accomplish.
  • Finishing a book that you never thought you'd get through.
  • Tasting something for the first time.
  • Winning a prize.

The small milestones are just as important as the big ones. They just aren't thought about as often. For my family, they get a bigger kick out of and more enjoyment from the small milestones. My daughter has won three things at the library in the past year alone. Tickets to a baseball game, and two books. These are small little events, but they are certainly scrapworthy.

Remember, it is important to think about what matters to you and your family. These albums are yours. They preserve things about your family and who you all are. If it is something you would enjoy looking at and seeing, then it definitely belongs in your scrapbook album.
