Finding Items to Alter With Your Scrapbooking Supplies

The best part of altered art is that it is an unending creative outlet. Altering something just means changing it from its original state or purpose. This makes unlimited possibilities with what you decide to alter. In my frugal living lifestyle, I am always reusing items for new purposes. But now the same can be said for my scrapbooking. Recently I altered an AOL CD cover and turned it into a case to hold a mini-scrapbook I created of my five children. However, the possibilities for what it could hold are simply endless. The scrapbooking industry is on top of … Continue reading

A Poll of Favorite Frugal Blogs from 2007

There is a vast difference in what those that seek out frugal ideas are looking for. Some people want ideas to save money long term, some immediate and some are looking for ways to simply cut costs and live a more simple and frugal lifestyle. Several weeks ago, I contacted some frugal friends (17 to be exact) of mine. Some have frugal blogs, some are my real life friends and still others responded to my e-mail plea. I asked them to go back through 2007 (January through October) and figure out what their very favorite articles were for each month. … Continue reading

I pledge this exact same thing every single year. Most of my friends think it is a strange goal, since I already appear to be living a very frugal lifestyle. I pinch … Continue reading

Scrapbooking Purses, Handbags, Totes and Wallets

With the change in the season, and the fall months upon us, I decided I would love to change purses to something that shows off who I am. I am a mom and a scrapbooker, first and foremost. So I need something that was roomy enough to store plenty of items including my organizer, yet would also fit scrapbook supplies, an album maybe and I would love to find one that also would on occasion accommodate my laptop. I already have a laptop bag, and I do not take my laptop everywhere with me, so that was the feature I … Continue reading

Scrapbooking Your Values and Virtues

Recently I came across an interesting article which was talking about Benjamin Franklin. I am usually one of those gals that seriously does not enjoy most historical information. I am just not a history buff, and I prefer the literary world much more. However, there was a blurb in the article that caught my eye. It stated that Benjamin Franklin made a list of thirteen personal virtues in which he wanted to develop within himself during his lifetime. I was absolutely fascinated with that idea, and immediately I saw a scrapbook layout developing in my mind. The virtues that Mr. … Continue reading
