Spring Clean Your Scrapbook Space

Have you seen the viral video featuring the woman who lives in a 90-square-foot studio in Manhattan? Sure, it’s located across from Lincoln Center and a block from Central Park, but the place is smaller than most suburban bedroom closets. Lucky for her, she’s a professional organizer and her dad’s a bankruptcy attorney, so she knows how to make do with few things, and the items she does have are perfectly placed throughout the tiny apartment. Her story got me thinking about spring cleaning my scrapbook space. Sadly, my little scrapbooking nook is about the same size as the woman’s … Continue reading

Scrapbook Storage Sale

My email inbox is bursting at the seams with Black Friday ads. There’s no way I am venturing out in the freezing cold at some gosh forsaken hour to battle bargain hunters… this year. However, I’d be lying if I didn’t admit to being tempted by some of the sales, including ones for scrapbooking storage items. I could use a couple of sturdy storage carts for my scrapbooking supplies. Actually, I could use the help of Ty Pennington and the rest of the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition crew to build an entire scrapbooking room, but I don’t think there is … Continue reading

Making a Vow to Get Your Scrapbooking Area Organized

New Year’s is right around the corner, and the old adage “Out with the old, In with the new”, is possibly something you will be focusing on soon. As we all know, most well meaning people create these long lists of resolutions, and are lucky if one or two of them are accomplished. This year, create a resolution to get rid of the things you don’t use, and reduce the clutter in your scrap room. It won’t be easy, there is no doubt. For many people it is difficult to get rid of things, always keeping in the back of … Continue reading

Scrapbooking Week in Review for May 5-11, 2008

The weather has been somewhat more cooperative this week, but still we are plagued with rain that seems as if it won’t quit on some days. I am so tired of rain, yet have used the bad weather as an excuse to hang out with my kids, create more memories and overall spend some extra time scrapbooking. Here is what has been going on in the scrapbooking blog this week of May 5 – 11, 2008. How to Get Great Pictures The question is often asked, “How do I get great pictures?”. There is no need to be an expert … Continue reading

Great Scrapbooking Storage Solutions (1)

I am an obsessive organizer. In fact, I absolutely love the power and feeling I get, when I complete an organizational project. Sometimes, when I go back and realize how effective the storage solution was, I get giddy. I know, it’s strange. But it can be exhilarating when you can find all your things and not have to go searching. Because that was me, way back when. I am definitely speaking from experience. It is important for all items to have a home. In other words, everything you own, should have a place to go. This is completely true in … Continue reading

Sticker and Die Cut Storage Ideas

As scrapbookers, we tend to accumulate a large amount of stickers and different types of die cuts, which can include page toppers and other shapes. Storage for these ideas, while plentiful, can be somewhat confusing, and since every scrapbooker is different, you have to find what works best for you and the space you are using. My favorite product is The Stadium Organizer, pictured left. This innovative, new product is a plastic stadium style plastic container, which can hold different sizes and shapes of die cuts and sticker sheets. To learn more, see this article. Another terrific item for organizing … Continue reading

Budget Friendly Innovative Scrapbook Supply Storage

Every scrapbooker needs to be organized, and most scrapbookers wish they could find inexpensive or free methods for storage. Why wouldn’t you want to find products that were low cost or found in your own home. I am a frugal gal at heart, and reusing anything for another purpose, always makes me smile. Over the past twelve years that I have been scrapbooking, I have accumulated a lot of supplies, and I have had to find storage methods for everything along the way. I often look right in my own home for innovative ways to store my items. A couple … Continue reading

Spring Cleaning Your Scrapbook Supplies

It’s Spring and that means it is time for cleaning. There are two reasons I chose to write about spring cleaning your scrapbook area. The first, of course, is that spring has officially arrived and it is time to get moving on some spring cleaning around your home. The second reason, is because with all garage sale articles I have been writing, over in frugal living, I wanted to spring clean my scrapbook area as well, to make it neat and organized (and to make room for more stuff!). Spring Cleaning your scrapbook area can be as easy as just … Continue reading
