Boys VS. Girls in Scrapbooking

I had a little girl first. That’s when I dove head first into the world of scrapbooking. I loved all the adorable papers, and embellishments, flowers, bling, etc. etc. etc. that I could put on her layouts. It was so much fun, and so girly. Since that is how I started doing the more modern style of scrapbooking, I am a little lost when it comes to how to scrapbook for a boy. Does anyone else have this problem? So, I find that I want to put things on the layouts that maybe aren’t quite appropriate like papers that look … Continue reading

I ran across a different concept in scrapbooking that might be a great way for a person thinking about scrapbooking to try their hand at it. Although, this product is not specific to beginning scrappers, it can be used by anyone. I liked the idea of this as an avid scrapper myself, and thought I’d share. The product is called Project Life. Started by a Mom passionate about scrapbooking, this is a cool way to get started on your scrapbooking for the upcoming year, or start it right now! Basically, it is a kit that can be either digital or … Continue reading

Group Scrapbook Gift

\ When a dear friend moved across the country, many of us were very sad yet excited for her new life. She was such a part of our lives that finding a gift that said how much we appreciated her proved impossible. What trinket or knick knack could express how much love we had in our hearts or how thankful we were for all the wonderful memories? We racked our brains until one lady suggested that we make a group scrapbook to present to her at the farewell dinner. We all loved the idea so much that we worked very … Continue reading

Displaying Your Scrapbook Albums

It is always interesting to me to hear the different ways that scrapbookers organize and display their scrapbooking albums. There are so many different outlooks on the way that they should be displayed, and many different ways that scrapbookers do display their albums. It always surprises me when scrapbookers don’t have a method for displaying their albums. After all that hard work, it should be a given that you would want to show them off. Even if they aren’t completed. Allowing friends and family to enjoy even a half-way finished project is better than stowing the album away in some … Continue reading

Scrapbooking for Others: Building a Scrapbook Portfolio

Scrapbooking for others is a great way to make some extra money doing something you love. It is important to remember to have fun while you are doing it, or you will quickly burn out. It is also important to remember to build your scrapbook portfolio with samples and testimonials from others. Samples: Obviously you are not going to create an entire duplicate page of a layout you have completed for someone else. However, snapping a photograph and putting it in a picture album or scanning it, reducing its size and printing it out and creating a scrapbook portfolio album … Continue reading

With the sunshine replacing many of the rainy days we have been having, I have been trying to enjoy the weather whenever I can. This means I don’t have as much time to scrapbook, but it does mean I have a bit more time to write as I bring my laptop to the park or wherever I am planning on going.
