Summer Organizing

I get the concept behind spring cleaning, but in my world, summer is primetime for purging. I’ve been trying to reorganize and deep clean my scrapbooking space for months; however, I simply haven’t had the time to undertake such a monumental task. Which is not to say that I have this humungous crafting space to create all my scrapbook masterpieces. Rather, I’m just a slob. If you’ve been dreading the idea of organizing your scrapbooking area, there’s no time like the present to get it done. Let summer’s extra long days inspire you to open your windows, dump out the … Continue reading

Storing Emergency Water Supplies

We’re mostly water. Water is essential to people, both for drinking and for cleaning. As the winter approaches it is good to be prepared with extra supplies in our home and at work. While you only need to drink 2 quarts of water per day, we often forget about the water that we use for cleaning ourselves, washing our hands, and cleaning our pots and pans. Even in an emergency you still need to keep clean. This is why emergency preparation organizations recommend that you store a gallon of water per person per day. Store at least a 3 day … Continue reading

How to Organize If You Don’t Have a Scrapbook Room

I am not one of those lucky souls to have a scrapbook room. I know of one lady who not only has a scrapbook room but she decorated it with a Star Wars theme. This is her room for scrapbooking and nothing else. I would love to have one of those but I have to utilize all of my extra space for my work. When my writing work began taking over the extra space I once had, I realized there was nowhere to go with my scrapbooking materials. So at one point I just bagged it all and shoved it … Continue reading

How to Get Your Scrap Space More Organized

There is nothing more inspiring than sitting down to scrapbook in an organized space. However, for most there isn’t much organization or storage that is working. Everyday new products come out to help us get more organized, but the problem is they aren’t always cost effective and we those products don’t work for everyone. Look around your scrap space and make a checklist of what is working for you and what doesn’t seem to be working. A lot of the stuff that isn’t working is probably not working for one of two reasons. The number one reason the method is … Continue reading

Marker and Pen Storage and Organization

Markers, pens, colored pencils, gel pens and all types of writing materials are used in scrapbooking. They are sometimes used for journaling, doodling, drawing, coloring or other techniques. So when you are faced with so many different writing tools, how and where do you store them? A small piece of advice: Always store your markers and pens horizontally and not vertically. When a marker or pen is stored vertically it causes all the ink to collect at one end of the pen. Storing them horizontally is always a better option as it keeps the ink more evenly distributed. Here are … Continue reading

Ink Pad Storage and Organization

Stamp pads can accumulate quickly, with all the luscious colors out there, and all of the different companies. From one company alone I have 35 different colors, not to mention a variety of other stamp pads and types. So what do you do when the stamp pads add up and the way you are storing them isn’t working for you? Over the years I have seen lots of different storage methods, but my favorite by far is the way that I have them stored. The reason I love it so much is because it was a totally FREE item that … Continue reading

Coffee and Scrapbooking – Organization and Storage You’ll Love

If you have been reading the scrapbooking blog for any period of time at all, you would know that finding innovative scrapbook storage is a major goal for me. I have discovered a way to enjoy two of my favorite things, well perhaps three when you think of organization. I am a major coffee drinker and periodically I treat myself to the Starbucks or Godiva chocolate coffee drinks you can buy … Continue reading

Tips for Managing Your Scrapbooking Organization

Traditional scrapbookers have a lot of stuff. There’s all that paper that needs to be stored. And then there is all the pens, markers, inks, ink pads, stamps, embellishments of every shape and size. It can be overwhelming when you are trying to figure out how to store or organize it all. Not to mention it can be expensive. Recently I have undergone a massive overhaul project of sorting, purging and organizing my stash. I own my own home business, so I need the space to make room for the new stuff I must carry and create with. Here are … Continue reading
