Always Scrapbooking

I barely have enough time in the day to use the bathroom, let alone complete a few scrapbook layouts before the late news comes on. Yet, somehow, my neighbor manages to whip together amazingly detailed page designs in the time it takes me to clean-up the mess from dinner. By the end of the night, Super Scrapper has crafted at least four layouts and is busy organizing her stash for the next night’s session. When I asked her how she is able to be so productive in such a short period of time she responded: “I’m always scrapbooking.” What she … Continue reading

Why Scrapbooking Makes Me Happy

Since I was very young, I can always remember needing a creative outlet in which to express myself. Before it was scrapbooking it was stamping, and before it was stamping it was arts and crafts. Even from a really young age, I can remember being enthralled with the idea of saving memories and making myself relive them over and over again. I can remember making ‘books’ as I called them, with magazine cut-outs and photographs and words and journaling and cool pictures and drawings. That wasn’t just a book. It was the beginning of a scrapbook. Albeit not a very … Continue reading

Journey To Better Journaling

One of my scrapbook goals for 2007 is to stop procrastinating and journal more. I am a born journalist and have kept diaries, journals and words that I have written over the years. Some stores now have small scrapbook sections or carry items that might not be for scrapbooking but could easily be adapted and used. Here are three more obscure places to find scrapbook supplies. Dollar Stores This is one of those things that you might get lucky, but then you might strike out. We have several dollar stores in our area that have a very small scrapbook section, however what they offer usually isn’t found anywhere else I’ve seen. I’ve gotten some cool packs of … Continue reading

Journaling Written By Hand

One of the most prized and protected possessions I have is the original handwritten letter from my biological mother after I had been contacted by her. I cherish it, and love looking at her beautiful handwriting. Another favorite item, cherished, is a card from when I was a little girl from my great grandmother. She wrote the sweetest card to a 6 year old little girl in her shaky handwriting, but it makes me smile each time I read it. The sight of a special someone’s familiar handwriting can warm the heart. But most of us really don’t like our … Continue reading
