Summer Organizing

I get the concept behind spring cleaning, but in my world, summer is primetime for purging. I’ve been trying to reorganize and deep clean my scrapbooking space for months; however, I simply haven’t had the time to undertake such a monumental task. Which is not to say that I have this humungous crafting space to create all my scrapbook masterpieces. Rather, I’m just a slob. If you’ve been dreading the idea of organizing your scrapbooking area, there’s no time like the present to get it done. Let summer’s extra long days inspire you to open your windows, dump out the … Continue reading

Holiday Organization

Christmas is one of the most popular events to scrapbook. However, with the tens of thousands of holiday-themed albums, embellishments, and paper on the market, it can be a bit overwhelming to keep straight. What’s more, if you give into temptation, and purchase even a fraction of the scrapbook supplies available with holiday themes, your craft room would likely resemble a war zone. In order to make the most of your Christmas-themed scrapbook supplies, it’s a good idea to create an organized method of storage. By doing so, not only will you be able to create gorgeous layouts with ease, … Continue reading

A Place for Everything

The upside of not having a ton of scrapbooking leftovers is that you don’t have to invest in a ton of storage. In a previous post I described my envy over a friend’s massive scrapbook sticker collection. She has all of her new and leftover stickers neatly organized in a Crop-In-Style 3-Ring Binder. In addition to the binder, which she is able to take to crops and other scrapbooking events, she also has the Clip It Up. That’s the product that really causes my green-eyed monster to rear its ugly head. Clip It Up is one of the most popular … Continue reading

What Leftovers?

Maybe I’m not as savvy of a scrapbooker as I thought. Or, perhaps, I am just cheap. Either way, I don’t have anywhere near the inventory of scrapbook supply leftovers that other women in my cropping group boast. In fact, I can fit all of my leftovers in a single shoebox. I make no bones about my scrapbooking frugality. Typically, I purchase on an as needed basis. I operate on a tight budget, which means I don’t have the luxury of perusing my local scrapbook supply shop on any given day and purchasing items on a whim. Rather, I carefully … Continue reading

Getting Organized

Keeping your scrapbook supplies organized is not only a good way to save money, but it also helps keep your children safe. My young daughter is attracted to my colorful scrapbooking tools like a moth to a flame. She loves getting her hands on stickers, stamps, buttons and ribbon. However, her favorite items are my sharp tools, especially my collection of “fancy” scissors, which she likes to steal and use to cut her doll’s hair. By keeping my scrapbook stash organized and out of reach I don’t have to worry about her getting hurt. Consider placing very small embellishments that … Continue reading

Getting an Organizational Tune-Up

If last year you found it difficult to locate items, to keep on top of your schedule or to remember appointments then you may be in need of an organizational tune-up. The start of a new year is the perfect time to do this. There are some items that are must-have’s when it comes to a home business. First and foremost you need a calendar. In my case, I prefer to have more than one. I keep a calendar on my phone so that if I am ever out and about and I need to check for a conflict, I … Continue reading

Patterned Paper Organization

There are a million different ways that you can organize your scrapbooking papers. There are also several different storage solutions for you to use. But, I want to talk about specifically, how do you organize your patterned scrapbook paper? This is the hardest part for me. Obviously, my solid colored papers are organized by color, but I am constantly changing how I organize my patterned paper. I can share with you how I have it organized right now. My paper rack was purchased at a yard sale. It has 30 shelves to fit 12 x 12 papers. On the left, … Continue reading

New Year’s is right around the corner, and the old adage “Out with the old, In with the new”, is possibly something you will be focusing on soon.
