Since I happen to put off journaling until the end, I have a lot of layouts that are sitting in limbo waiting for that final journaling block. I decided recently to play ‘catch up’ and get that … Continue reading

Finding Fonts for Scrapbooking

I’m often asked where I get the fonts for the journaling blocks and titles that are on my scrapbook layouts. There is no set location, but I tend to watch the idea books and magazines for cute fonts and then I look them up or … Continue reading

What’s Cooking?

When I think of the holiday season, the first thing that comes to mind is not Jack Frost nipping at my nose, jingle bells or dancing elves, it’s… food; mountains of meat, plenty of potatoes, and heavenly homemade desserts. Seeing the snow pile up on the East Coast today reminded me about all the eating I will be doing in the weeks to come. Moreover, it made me think about the holiday-inspired recipe scrapbooks I’ve crafted in the past. The memory books make amazing gifts for family members and friends. Fortunately, the instructional albums are also a cinch to create. … Continue reading

Fancy Festive Layouts

There are a variety of ways you can spice up your holiday layouts, including using Christmas-themed stickers, stamps, and die-cuts. However, if you really want to add a fancy touch to your designs without breaking the bank, consider using holiday-themed fonts. My favorite, and perhaps the simplest Christmas-themed fonts, are basic serif or sans serif decorated with holiday-inspired details, such as letters peeking out from underneath Santa hats, snow or letters printed on Christmas tree ornaments. I also love the letters that look like they are made from candy canes or carved from Christmas trees. I’m not that huge a … Continue reading
