Scrapbooking Made Easy

My mother is the first to admit that she is a dinosaur when it comes to technology. To say that she doesn’t embrace computers or anything digital would be a severe understatement. Ironically, for as much as my mom abhors high-tech gadgets, she absolutely loves the idea of digital scrapbooks. In fact, she is borderline obsessed with digital photo books, which are essentially affordable scrapbooks that you make online. You’ve likely seen the albums advertised on various photography and scrapbooking websites. They feature a variety of prefabricated templates that make scrapping an entire book a breeze. To design the pages … Continue reading

Another Year Of Scrapbooking 2

Yes, it has been one year since I joined families.com in the scrapbooking section. A little over a week ago I posted A Year Of Scrapbooking which explained all that. Yesterday I began explaining what types of articles were being posted a year ago in Another Year Of Scrapbooking 1. This article is a coninuation of that one. One of my favorite topics is journaling. Probably because I am a writer, but beyond being a writer, I love going back and reading how I felt, what I was thinking and what we were doing in each group of photographs I … Continue reading

Free Scrapbooking Software

Scrapbooking is my money pit. My mad money can quickly go from substantial to nothing when there’s a 6/.96 sale on paper at JoAnn’s or a half off clearance at my local scrap shop! It’s an addiction, but I can quit at any time, really I can. I don’t need to scrapbook; I do it because I want to. Does that sound like an addict? I wonder if they have 12-step programs for scrapbookers. I do try to be financially responsible in my scrapbooking, finding frugal ways to cut costs. I love free scrapbook-related things, whether they’re the Disney paint … Continue reading

Digital Scrapbooking Magazine

We all use computers to at least some extent when it comes to scrapbooking. Maybe it is just to print the title of a page or print out the journaling, but it could involve a lot more that. Digital scrapbooking has become increasingly popular over the last couple of years. I still have not created an entirely digital page, mostly because I am not sure where to start. I have a feeling that once I do start creating a few digital pages, it will be more fun than I was expecting. If you are like me and want to learn … Continue reading

$300 for a Year of Scrapbooking – What Would You Do?

Around a year ago, I made a friend who was going to go overseas with her husband for a year while he was in the service. Wherever it was she was headed to, pretty much meant no scrapbook supplies for a year. Can you imagine that? I’m not sure I would survive a year without access to scrapbook supplies. However, her husband gave her $300 and told her to purchase what she could for the entire year. Obviously developing or digital prints were not included in that amount. She was able to use the online digital print services for that … Continue reading

Scrapbooks Made Easy

I am a huge fan of Shutterfly albums. While some call them an insult to scrapbooks, when you are in a hurry or simply don’t have the creative juices to craft a traditional memory album, the hardcover digitally generated books featuring your favorite photos and journaling, simply can’t be beat. I like to refer to the albums as scrapbooks made easy. You simply can’t fail when crafting the digital albums, as the directions are a cinch to follow and the actual steps are short and sweet. Several companies offer these types of books, including Shutterfly and Snapfish, which have designed … Continue reading
