Art Class Adventures

My three year old son loves art. He loves to paint, draw, and build. When I saw an opportunity for him to take a one hour art class this summer at the local art center, I immediately signed him up for an art class two months in advance. I put the event into my digital calendar so that I would receive a reminder a day in advance. With anything out of the ordinary, if it is not in the calendar set with a reminder, I will forget about it. The day of his art class arrived, I was reminded the … Continue reading

Pioneer Day Festivities

Living in Salt Lake City, we are lucky. Not only do we get to celebrate the 4th of July, but the 24th of July, too. Pioneer day! And, let me just say, that pioneer celebrations are huge in Utah. We like fireworks. Lots of them. I wonder what the pioneers think of our celebrations? My little family had a great day. We started out with our ward breakfast. This is a tradition in our ward. Pancakes, eggs, bacon, you name it. Then, at the end, there is a “parade” by all the kids in the ward. The kids bring their … Continue reading

Chip It Good

My local scrapbook supply shop has a huge “Dads and Grads” display in the front of the store. The table includes a massive array of graduation and Father’s Day-themed albums, embellishments and paper. In addition, the owner of the shop created the most incredible selection of chipboard scrapbooks. One spells out “Daddy,” another “Graduate,” and another “Congratulations.” For as long as I have been creating memory albums, I have yet to master the art of crafting chipboard scrapbooks. I’m not sure what intimidates me so much about these unique albums, though I have a feeling it has to do with … Continue reading

Questions About The Surgery

My husband did have some of the same questions that most guys will ask when you hear the diagnosis of testicular cancer now again I am going to warn you that these are direct questions so just be aware. First like any man his first question was if everything was still going to work if you know what I mean. The long and short of it is that the testicles are basically the sperm makers. He already had a vasectomy so we did not need to worry about that part. Everything else is and does work just fine. The doctor … Continue reading
