Beating Scrapbooking Block

Even the best crafters suffer from scrapper’s block every once in a while. In fact, after designing hundreds of layouts, it’s not uncommon for the most experienced scrapbookers to resort to beginner techniques or materials. Recently, I was quite shocked to learn that my neighbor and scrapbooking mentor (she has been creating elaborate memory albums for more than 25 years) uses instructional scrapbook paper from time to time. You could frame them, store them, or leave them in your digital camera. But why not employ some unique ways to preserve your autumn memories? Here are a few ideas I came up with: Picture Stamps. I know. Most people reserve … Continue reading

Choosing The Right Paper Trimmer

One of the most important and basic tools needed for scrapbooking, besides your photos, is a paper trimmer. It is used nearly every time you sit down to create a layout, for precision cutting, cropping and achieving perfectly straight lines or particular shapes, as well as coming in handy for other various projects. However, choosing the right paper trimmer, can be quite difficult when faced with all of the different shapes, styles and brands out there. Circle and Oval Cutters For many scrapbookers, a circle or oval cutter is or was their first trimming tool. A circle or oval cutter … Continue reading
