Creating a School Scrapbook

In my ongoing quest to find new things to scrapbook, I just came up with yet another one. Over the years I have kept important school papers in binders. I label each binder with my child’s name and the grade. It is so neat to go back several years and look at their work. Now I don’t keep everything. I only keep really important stuff like when they first wrote their name, awards, special writing assignments and that sort of thing. I keep them protected in clear page protectors. The binders are nice because it keeps everything organized but they … Continue reading

Creating Binder Scrapbooks

When you think of scrapbooking what usually comes to mind? Most of us think about scrapbooking as a way to preserve memories. Sometimes, though, we need to think outside of the box when it comes to preserving memories through scrapbooking. I love the fancy, beautiful binders that can be found when you are getting ready to work on a scrapbook project. I have a variety of colors, sizes and themes when it comes to my scrapbooks. They are filled with pictures and other memorabilia that I really do treasure. Not only do I treasure pictures, though, I also treasure keepsakes … Continue reading

Simple Organizational Tips

When I was a preschool teacher one of my favorite monthly activities was to put up a new bulletin board. I loved coming up with creative and fun ideas. Every month it would include a fun saying like, “Fishin’ for Letters” or “Take a Step into Preschool.” With all of the bulletin boards that I created, I found my pile of cut-out letters and numbers began to really accumulate. Pretty soon I had every letter of the alphabet in a wide range of colors. So I came up with a great way to organize them that have carried on into … Continue reading

One of the best ways to make the most of your scrapping time is to pre-plan your layouts. Organization is key to designing sensational scrapbook pages in a limited amount of time. If you are looking for ways to keep track of your ideas and embellishments, then consider purchasing a page planner. … Continue reading

A Scrapbook for Everyone

My children aren’t quite ready to move out but when they do I want to have a scrapbook dilemma solved. I would love to send them off with scrapbooks that they can keep and eventually pass on down to their children. The problem is if I give away all my scrapbooks to them, I will have nothing left. I haven’t quite arrived where I would like to be but a few years ago I started trying to solve that problem by creating multiple scrapbooks. Ideally you should have duplicates made of your pictures. The best way to go about this … Continue reading

Arccivo

As most of you know, I love discovering new and innovative products to use in my scrapbooks, or for scrapbooking in general. I tend to constantly be on the look out for anything and everything that can be incorporated into our hobby. However, once in awhile, a product slips by, that completely amazes me. Thus is the case with Arccivo, a new product designed specifically for scrapbookers. A new friend brought the product to my attention, (thank you Ruby) and I was impressed from the very start. I immediately called another friend, who owns a scrapbook store and asked if … Continue reading

A Simple Way To Store Those Unmounted Stamps

Lets face it, stamping has become so popular in scrapbooking, it is almost an addiction by itself. For many, it is their primary addiction, for others it is just fun to have the stamps to use in your scrapbooks. Regardless of where you fall in that little spectrum, storing the unmounted stamps can be a challenge. Once upon a time, I actually stored them in a drawer in my iris cart. But it was difficult to find what I was looking for and I got frustrated easily. I came up with a better solution that you will hopefully find useful … Continue reading
