Coordinating Invites and Gifts

Primary teacher gift boxes

It is so fun when I have an opportunity to use my scrapbooking supplies for things other than scrapbooking. This past month I was able to make invitations to a dinner at church and create coordinating gift boxes (filled with candy) for each of the people in attendance at the dinner. Everyone seemed to like the invites and gift boxes, so I thought I would share my little project with you.

The Invitation

(I appoligize for the paint blob in the center of this one. I gave out all of the good ones before taking a picture, so this is all I had left to photograph.)

1. After going through my paper stash, I decided to use a Basic Grey Lollipop Shoppe paper pack. This made coordinating all of the paper very easy since they all match each other.

2. I cut two different sizes of rectangles from the paper so that they could be layered on each other.

3. On the smaller rectangle, I used Making Memories foam stamps to stamp the word "teacher."

4. Mount the smaller rectangle onto the larger one using a glue stick.

5. Next, I used a pen to write the rest of the invitation message.

6. For a final touch, I punched a hole about an inch in from the edge of the paper. I also punched a hole in the center of a Heidi Swapp ghost flower. Then I used some fiber to tie the flower to the paper by threading the fiber through the back and up the hole and then tied a knot on front of the flower.

Gift Boxes

These were very easy and I can't take much credit for them since you can buy them from Basic Grey. I used the boxes that coordinate with the Lollipop Shoppe paper so that they would match the invitations. The boxes come flat as a die cut on a 12 X 12 piece of cardstock. All you have to do is punch them out and then glue them. They did have some notches precut to close the lid, but I wanted to add ribbon so I punched two holes, one on each flap that was on top of the box, and then tied ribbon through the holes.

Using coordinated products almost always saves time and give you an opportunity to combine different prints that you may not have thought of putting together on your own.
