Cheap Scrapbooking Supplies from the Kitchen 2

I've mentioned before, I just love looking for more great inexpensive items from strange places in my home. I like using things that might not otherwise have been used for exactly that use. Have you ever used anything from around your house in your albums and on your layouts? Part one of the article is posted here. There are plenty more where the original article left off.

Plastic Baggies - They are certainly great for sorting and storing items, but they can also be used to hold memorabilia on your page, or to cover a tag or to create a pocket on the page for something else.

Tins and Canisters - These can be altered with beautiful patterned papers, and then filled to the brim with all sorts of fun embellishments - buttons, ribbon and more. If you don't have a large stamp collection, it is a great way to keep them corralled.

Popsicle Sticks - These can be used on layouts for lettering, tags and even painted or altered to match your layout. Try altering four of them with altered paper and then use them to frame a special photograph on a layout. They add dimension and are very inexpensive.

Kitchen Magnets - Check out your refrigerator for any cool kitchen magnets that could be used on your layout. They are fairly cheap and sometimes they are ready to use right as that perfect embellishment.

Fancy Napkins - Use them peeking out behind a photo, or to put some embellishment on. If you have a themed party, save a napkin to use on the layout and then pull the colors or theme out of the napkin and create your layout with it.

A few more ideas for items to use from the kitchen are:

• Fancy Stir Sticks
• Toothpicks
• Chopsticks
• Images cut from a paper party plate
